Aerated Lagoon Expansion

Agassiz Drilling recently performed the drilling and blasting function for the recent construction of the aerated lagoon and SAGR system expansion at the Little Grand Rapids First Nation.

Little Grand Rapids First Nation is located 268 kilometers northeast of Winnipeg, on the shores of Family Lake near the Manitoba/Ontario border. The reserve is spread out over an eight kilometer stretch along the south shore.

Beyond the lagoon expansion, Agassiz provided controlled blasting work for the construction of 7 new lift stations, forcemain, gravity wastewater, sewer and watermains.

Controlled blasting techniques were employed throughout the trench rock excavation process, often within 10 metres of residences. Agassiz Drilling’s highly trained and detail-oriented blast technicians were able to perform all blasting with an absolute minimum of disruption to the residents and nearby buildings. As always, safety is our overriding concern.
